General Questions

  1. What is inride.com? inride.com is an online platform that connects car sellers (like you!) with a nationwide network of dealers. We make it easy to sell your vehicle to dealers and get the best possible price.
  2. In what geographic regions does inride.com operate? inride conducts business with buyers and sellers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia of the United States.
  3. How does inride.com work? You provide information about your vehicle, pick whether you want to list your car as an Instant Offer or Auction (1 o 5 days), and we present it to our network of authorized dealers.

For auctions, dealers bid on your car and when the auction ends the highest bidder wins. You also have the option to enter a Buy Now price and if a dealer chooses to pay it, then the auction ends early. Once the auction has successfully ended, we handle the entire process, including payment and vehicle pickup.

Your other option is to sell your vehicle for the Instant Offer you receive from us. An Instant Offer is valid for 7 days from the date of our offer or 250 miles, whichever comes first. The final price paid for your vehicle is contingent upon inspection of your vehicle and verification of your title and mileage.
  4. Who can use inride.com? inride.com is designed for individual car owners who want a hassle-free way to sell their vehicles for more money and for dealers to bid on a variety of vehicles across the US.
  5. How do I become an approved dealer? Car dealers can apply to join the inride network at https://auction.inride.com/#/pre/home/login, click on Create New Account and then choose Dealer.  Once all the required information and license are submitted, it will be reviewed by inride management within one business day.

For Sellers

  1. How do I start the process? Simply visit our website at https://auction.inride.com and enter your vehicle details. We’ll guide you through the rest of the steps.
  2. What kind of vehicles can I sell on inride.com? We accept a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs, just as long as they run, can be driven, and have less than 100,000 miles.
  3. How do I know how much my car is worth? Our platform provides a value based on current market data. We call this the Starting Price for the auction. The actual selling price will depend on the bids you receive, but bidding must start at least $100 over the Starting Price.
  4. Is there a fee to use inride.com? There is NO FEE to list or sell your car on inride.
  5. Should I get my car inspected before listing it?
    • For Auctions: Because dealers from around the country will be viewing your car and they can’t physically inspect it before placing bids, we will schedule an inspection at your location. There is NO FEE to you as the seller. Once the inspection is completed, we will add the report to your listing, which allows dealers to view it before placing a bid. With a condition report, you will have a much better chance of receiving multiple bids.
    • For Instant Offer sales: If you plan to sell your car for an Instant Offer, the actual purchase price for your car is contingent upon on an independent inspection being conducted at no cost to you.
  6. How do I set a starting price for my auction? The value you receive on our platform is also the starting price for the auction.
  7. Can I set a reserve price?  A reserve price in a car auction is the minimum bid a seller is willing to accept for their car. To encourage dealers to bid on your car, your starting price on inride is considered the reserve price. That means that your car will sell to the highest bidder if the bid is at least $100 above your starting price.
  8. What if my car’s title shows salvage, total loss, or rebuilt? inride does not accept cars with branded title issues. We conduct due diligence on all vehicles, including title searches, before we approve them to be listed on our platform. inride reserves the right to reject any car submitted on our platform. Refer to our Terms of Use and Title Policy for additional details.
  9. What happens after the auction ends? If the auction ended successfully with a winning bid, we’ll schedule a convenient time for your vehicle to be picked up and handle payment.  If you have your title, we will email you a prepaid overnight label to send it to us.  If your bank has your title, we will arrange for a pay off directly with the bank and request the title from them with the lien release.  You don’t have to worry about a thing!
  10. Can I change my mind after the auction begins? As long as there are no active bids on your car, you may contact us at [email protected] to request cancellation of your auction.  Once a bid is placed, you are required by inride’s Terms of Use to sell your vehicle to the highest bidder.
  11. What if I have an outstanding loan on my car? When you enter your car information there is a place to indicate if you have a lien and whether or not you have the physical title or if it’s with the bank.  If the title has a lien, please obtain a payoff quote from your bank that is good for 30 days, if possible, and email it to us at [email protected].
  12. When and how do I receive my money?
    • You will receive payment as soon as we receive a clear title (i.e. no lien) either from you or the bank and your car has been picked up by the carrier.  Please note that some banks may take up to four weeks to process payments and lien releases. Unfortunately, we have no control over their processing times.
    • If there is a loan or lease, we will pay the bank or finance company the payoff amount and we will pay you any remaining equity. If the equity amount is relatively small (usually less than $100), then we will send the full sale price to the bank and they will send you a check for any overpayment.
    • We send funds via ACH, which takes approximately 4 business days to be deposited to your account.  We can expedite payment via wire for a small fee.  Same-day payment is possible as long as the request is initiated during banking hours.  Otherwise, it will be the next banking business day.  Banks are closed on Government holidays.
  13. Can I have the money sent to an overseas bank? For security reasons, we only accept and send money from/to US banks.
